A Letter to my LEO –
I know I might not always say it, and sometimes my annoyance at letting the dog out, cleaning the house, and dealing with your crazy schedule might get in the way of my true feelings, but I want you to know that I love and appreciate you more than you realize. I don’t tell you thank you enough, but I should say each and every day because you do so much.
Thank you for putting yourself out there day after day, night after night to support our family and community. Thank you for being so unbelievably selfless in all that you do. I promise you are not taken for granted, not even for a second (even if it sometimes feels that way). You are amazing, you have somehow found a balance between work and home. I know your career can be ridiculously stressful and require you to be serious and tough, yet when you come home you are the same man that I fell in love with who is going to make an amazing father. Even after a long day you are here to support me in everything I do, and I would not be who I am without you. You Mr. Officer are my rock and stability in this unstable world.
Even when things get tough, or when you feel like the world is against you, know that you have my unconditional support in all that you do both professionally and personally. You are hard-working, caring, determined, and you have certainly put your time in and it is finally paying off. I know you are apprehensive about the unknown, but I know you will find success and that this is truly the path you were meant to take. Everything you have learned as a part-time officer, I believe, will help you as you begin your full time career. I know you will never forget the effort, sweat, and time that went into getting you where you are today. I know you will never lose sight of all that is truly important. Your beliefs are stronger than anything, and I know you will always follow them. May you always appreciate the opportunities you have been given, and continue to reach for and achieve more each and every day.
Here is to the future – and to all good things that are sure to come. Thank you again for simply being you – both as an officer and a husband. I am honored to call myself your LEO wife.
Ms. Officer Charger
