Yup- you read that right Charger and I officially have a one year old- as of yesterday! I apologize for not posting much during the month of May – things were extremely hectic; we were planing for a first birthday, Charger was working like crazy, I was trying to keep up with student deadlines, and I started blogging for Pittsburgh Blog Moms (I’ll post more about that later!). I am happy to say we had a wonderful birthday party for our little star (the theme was “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”) and Charger’s schedule has calmed down…. some.
The party was somewhat overwhelming – we had a large guest list, I made all the decorations (and I’m not a “crafty” person), I also made a lot of the food myself – including pasta salad, baked rigatoni, and brownies. I did do some catering though: Hog Fathers for the pulled pork and coleslaw, Giant Eagle for the chicken, and Fabulous Homemade (the adorable bakery by our house) for the cupcakes and smash cake. Overall it really was a wonderful day. We had amazing friends and family who helped set up, clean up, and two of dear friends hung out at the house afterwards so we could chill out and have a much needed adult beverage (once little miss was sleeping of course!).
It is so crazy to think back on the past year – we had so many changes: a new department for Charger, a new house, a new town, and a baby! I am happy (and relieved) to say that we have no big changes on the horizon… for a least a little while! Having a one year old is totally different than having a little baby- she has such a personality now. She’s constantly on the go and should be walking any day now! – she stands and balances, cruises on the furniture, walks assisted, and took a few small steps the other day! However, I am in no rush – it’s hard enough chasing her while she crawls (she is so fast!) – I can’t imagine how she is going to be once she walking all over the place!
I apologize for this being a super short post – nap time is coming to and end and I wanted to post something since it’s been so long! – but I promise I will be on more often in the coming days/weeks with more to share! =)
Stay safe –
Ms. Officer Charger
